Optimized Broccoli and
Cruciferous Blend
30 enteric-coated vegetarian
tablet
Item # 02368 |
Cruciferous veggies (like broccoli) promote
cellular health, breast health, and healthy hormone balance. For the
most benefits, eat your cruciferous veggies raw…or just take our
Optimized Broccoli formula!
Gluten free Non-GMO Vegetarian
Overview
What Is Broccoli and Cruciferous Blend?
You know you need to eat your veggies. But not
everyone likes broccoli, watercress and cabbage. For those folks, we’ve
created Optimized Broccoli. It gives you the key compounds associated
with the cell and hormone health benefits of raw broccoli, watercress,
cabbage and more, without having to fork down those leafy greens every
single day.
Don’t fancy those dark green veggies every day? Add
our Optimized Broccoli formula to your regimen instead!
Optimized Broccoli & Cruciferous Blend
Benefits
-
Cruciferous compounds help protect cells and
even delicate DNA
-
Promotes breast health and healthy estrogen
metabolism
-
Optimizes delivery of key compounds found in raw
broccoli
Partitioned Encapsulation Technique
To obtain broccoli’s cellular health benefits, you
have to get the active compounds in broccoli to metabolize into the
health-promoting compound sulforaphane inside your digestive system.
We’ve separated myrosinase from glucoraphanin (sulforaphane’s precursor)
in a dual-layered tablet to optimize glucoraphanin-to-sulforaphane
conversion. By keeping the two apart until ingested, this formula
optimizes the amount of sulforaphane you can get from your broccoli
supplement.
Product Details
We know that cruciferous vegetables are good for
us. But most of us cook those vegetables first, which breaks down
important nutrients such as myrosinase and glucosinolate. Rather than
try to get everyone to eat their cruciferous vegetables raw, we’ve
created our new Optimized Broccoli formula to give you the
cell-protective and health-promoting benefits, without the leafy greens.
The (healthy) biology of broccoli
No one thinks broccoli is cool. But broccoli’s
biochemistry is actually pretty interesting. Broccoli contains several
health-promoting compounds. Glucoraphanin, myrosinase and sulforaphane
are key compounds involved in broccoli’s cellular health benefits.
Myrosinase actually helps turn glucoraphanin into
cell-health-promoting sulforaphane. What’s interesting is that
broccoli’s physical makeup separates glucoraphanin and myrosinase
compounds from each other by keeping myrosinase in a separate
compartment. That’s why chopped raw broccoli has greater benefits than
whole sprouts (and why chewing is important as well!).
Innovative partitioned and enteric-coated tablet
So why not just pack a softgel full of
sulforaphane? Because the compound is unstable. To enjoy the cellular
health benefits of broccoli, you have to get the active compounds in
broccoli to metabolize into as much sulforaphane as possible and do so
inside your digestive system.
Life Extension has separated myrosinase from
glucoraphanin in a dual-layered tablet to optimize glucoraphanin-to-sulforaphane
conversion. By keeping the two apart until they’re in your stomach,
we’ve optimized the amount of sulforaphane you can get from a broccoli
extract supplement. We also added additional myrosinase to help boost
sulforaphane production even further.
Watercress, rosemary and more
In addition to broccoli, plants like watercress
and rosemary provide phytonutrients such as glucosinolates,
isothiocyanates, carnosic acid and carnosol—active compounds that
promote healthy estrogen metabolism and cell division.1,2 Cabbage
extract provides benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC) that also helps maintain
cell health.3
DIM (diindolylmethane)
Lastly, this formula contains DIM (diindolylmethane),
a compound shown to favorably modulate estrogen metabolism and support
liver health.4,5 When we eat cruciferous vegetables, our body naturally
produces very small amounts of DIM in the gut. DIM also supports healthy
cell division and helps protect cells when they are exposed to xenoestrogens (estrogen-like environmental compounds
